Child Support Agency to hold information session
The Child Support Agency (CSA) is holding a free Community Information Session on 9 April 2008 at 6:30pm for separated parents in Lismore and the surrounding region.
“Representatives from Centrelink, Medicare Australia, Legal Aid, the Commonwealth Ombudsman, Family Relationship Centres and other local community service providers have been invited,” Page MP Janelle Saffin said.
“This information session gives parents the opportunity to ask questions and discuss child support and other related issues with experienced staff from CSA and other organisations.
“There will also be free CSA information booklets available about all aspects of separated parenting, including: maintaining a relationship with kids from a distance and tips and hints for people who are re-partnering.”
Parents will also be able to find out about major changes to the Child Support Scheme, which come into effect on 1 July 2008. If parents are unable to attend the information session, they can view details about the new Scheme on the CSA website www.csa.gov.au/schemereforms.
For more information on the information session parents should call 131 272 and ask to speak to someone about Lismore Community Information Session or go to the CSA website at www.csa.gov.au.
The booklets can be ordered via CSA’s website or by phoning 1800 040 972.
