Missingham Bridge markets get a new manager

The East Ballina Lions Club has been appointed as manager of the Missingham Bridge market for the next three years.

Ballina Shire Council has informed stall holders of the decision, which will come into effect when the club formally accepts the offer.

“One of the criteria for consideration was that the market manager be a not-for-profit organisation,” the council said.

The council also said the decision was subject to the market continuing to operate in accordance with council policy regarding the sale of locally grown produce, and that the market continues to operate every Sunday (except when Christmas Day falls on a Sunday).

The maximum number of stall holders at the market will remain at 20, although not all 20 licensed stall-holders operate at the one time.
