Police man mobile station at Lennox Head
Police from Richmond Local Area Command manned a mobile Police Station in the CBD of Lennox Head on Friday and Saturday night.
The bus was accompanied by general duties and highway patrol units.
The focus of the mobile bus was for saturation community-based policing of the village and surrounds, including beats, mobile patrols, licensed premises inspections and stationary RBT.
As part of the operation police moved-on several groups of intoxicated youth, intervening in a volatile confrontation between two groups of youth.
One male was charged with offensive language and another for failing to comply with a move-on direction and with offensive behaviour.
Police issued several infringement notices and charged a 22-year-old male and 45-year-old female with Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol offences (Drink Drive)
Duty Officer Inspector Greg Moore said: “The overall response to the increased police presence was again overwhelmingly positive with no reported crime in village on Saturday evening/Sunday morning.
“The mobile station will again be used in Lennox following the positive response.”
