Mourning a mate
It’s been a week of sadness for many Alstonville and Wollongbar residents as they paid tribute to shark attack victim Peter Edmonds.
Peter, 16, of Wollongbar, was fatally attacked by a shark at Ballina’s North Wall last week.
His funeral was held today at the Alstonville Baptist Church.
On Tuesday of this week, his school friends from Alstonville High gathered at the scene of the attack to confirm their unity in mourning him.
In a touching moment, his good surfing mates Brock Curtis-Matthew, Sam Petterson, Daniel Hotschilt and Jamie Hannah each dropped a single white rose into the surf.
