New outlet for Lennox Head ‘foodies’

lara.jpgLennox Head has a new fine food establishment and one-stop shop – Providore, which offers healthy and tasty food options which will get you through breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, pre-dinner snacks and dinner.

Providore was established by local residents Lara Crompton, pictured, and Michael Redfearn, and offers patrons a large variety of fresh local produce, delicious deli items, healthy lunchtime options, and a selection of frozen fresh meals that make mealtimes a snap.

“I grew up in Mullumbimby, and wanted to come home after having a baby, so we were looking for a business opportunity that would suit our combined love of great food and great service,” Lara said.

“We’ve named the business Providore as it conjures a feeling of quality and good old-fashioned service, which is something very close to our hearts. We also wanted a name that didn’t specifically pigeon hole us as a deli or café, but rather as a service orientated establishment that provides all types of good food.

“We recognise that Lennox is a town where lifestyle is important, and good food is an important part of a great lifestyle. We provide food that is good for you, and good in an indulgent sense.

“We cater for those people who want a quick and healthy lunch or dinner option. People can dash in on their way home from work and grab a quality frozen meal, without having to wait as they would in a café or restaurant.

“An important aspect of our business is about building relationships with our customers, and in providing food which is cost effective and convenient, but not greasy or ‘fast’ in any way.”

Providore offers an extensive range of oils, vinegars and chutneys, stylish gifts for the ‘foodie’ in your family, and features a growing range of locally made products including Byron Bay Tea Company, Misaki Byron and Taylor Made Food.

“Our deli section features products sourced from Australia and around the world, including Joseph Olive Oil, Simon Johnson, Maggie Beer, Tetsuya, Duchy Organic, and Saffron from Iran. If customers are after something unusual, we will do our best to source it for them,” Lara said.

Providore is located in the village’s newest restaurant and shopping strip along the northern end of the main shopping precinct in Ballina Street, and is open Mon-Sat from 9-5pm, and Sundays 10-2pm.
