Going to the Ballina Cup? Catch the bus
If you’re heading off to this year’s Carlton Draught Ballina Cup day meeting, take the hassle out of getting there by using one of the buses which will operate from Alstonville, Lennox Head, East Ballina, West Ballina and the Ballina CBD.
The eight-race Cup meeting, to be held on Thursday, September 11, will feature the $50,000 Carlton Draught Ballina Cup, plus seven other races.
Departure times to the track are:
- Alstonville bus zone: Noon and 12.40, travelling via West Ballina.
- Lennox Head bus stop: 11.30, 12.15, 12.45. Travel via North Creek Road, Headlands Drive direct.
- East Ballina Shopping Centre: 12.20, 1pm.
- West Ballina: 12.20, 1pm. Bus stop east of Big Prawn.
- Tamar Street bus zone: 11.45, Noon, 12.15, 12.30, 12.45, 1pm, 1.15, 1.30pm.
Departure times from the track to:
- Alstonville: 5.25, 5.40, via West Ballina.
- Lennox Head: 5.25, 5.40.
- Tamar Street bus zone: 5pm, 5.30, 6pm, 6.30. If required, then to West Ballina (no stops).
- Tamar Street bus zone: 4.45, 5.15, 5.45, 6.15. If required, then to East Ballina shops via Angels Beach Drive (no stops).
Meanwhile, this year’s Fashions on the Field will offer more than $1700 in prizes for the best dressed female, courtesy of Ballina Fair businesses.
There’s also sections for the best dressed male and best dressed couple.
