Ballina Rivafest needs you!
Working with people, being part of a team and celebrating your community are all in a day’s work when you sign up to volunteer at Rivafest 2008.
If you enjoy being a dedicated team member and have spare time on Saturday 29 November and Sunday November 30, why not consider volunteering at this year’s Ballina Rivafest?
Ballina Shire Council event co-ordinators are looking for approximately 50 people to help make this a special event for our community.
Whether you are skilled or wish to be skilled in organising, public relations, controlling crowds, working with performers and technicians, constructing marquees or sandpits, or simply just enjoy working, learning and meeting new people, Rivafest has a job for you.
“Be prepared to be busy, energised, and very appreciated!” Rivafest organisers said.
“Being an active member of your local community brings many rewards such as meeting new people, networking with local businesses, learning new skills, sharing your skills with others and great personal satisfaction.
“Just ask Kim Vincent, Business Development Manager of the Northern Rivers NSW Business Chamber, who volunteered at Rivafest 2007.
Kim said: “I received more from volunteering at Rivafest than I could have ever imagined.
“To be able to make a contribution to Ballina Shire’s only major festival gives me a great sense of pride and personal enjoyment.”
The Northern Rivers NSW Business Chamber will be sponsoring the Rivafest 2008 Volunteer Program.
No experience is required and all meals, T–shirts, caps and training will be provided.
Local clothing company, Gentle Giants, will provide assistance with volunteers’ uniforms and local businesses have generously provided volunteer meals.
So, if you’d like to raise your hand for volunteering, phone Katie Hanna at Ballina Shire Council on 6686 1446 or simply register on line at www.ballinarivafest.com.au

That’s a good question that Renee, which I’m afraid I can’t answer. You may need to head over to the official website to find some contact details or contact the council directly.
By the way, it’s great to see that you want to get involved.
