Clean Up Day, fund-raising concert: Ballina will be rocking on Sunday

rockIt will be a big day in Ballina Shire on Sunday, with Clean Up Australia Day activities in the morning followed by a concert to raise funds for the Victorian bushire victims from noon at Missingham amphitheatre.

Grab your hat, gloves, sturdy shoes, sunglasses, water and sunscreen and turn up at one of the following registered sites and help clean up Australia:

Meanwhile, the Northern Rivers Victorian Bushfire Fundraising Concert has been organised by well-known local band Fossil Rock, and is supported by Ballina Shire Council.

There will be six hours of music at the Ballina amphitheatre, starting at noon.

Some of the musos performing include the Fossils, Dr Bob, Sophistication, Glenn Massey, Ocker Rock, the Rochelle Lees Band and more.

There will be an auction on the day as well, with businesses donating a plasma television, signed Gold Coast Titans rugby league team jumpers and more to go under the hammer. Three mega raffles also will be held.

It will be an alcohol-free event.

Meanwhile, the Alstonville Concert Band will be holding a fundraising performance in aid of the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

The fundraiser will take place in the Alstonville Plaza on Saturday 28th February from 10am-noon, and will be run in conjunction with a sausage sizzle being organised by the Alstonville RSL sub-branch. All donations, no matter how large or small, will be appreciated.
