Ballina Jet Rescue Boat Service gets $16,500 grant
The Ballina Jet Rescue Boat Service has received a grant from the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation.
The $16,500 will help with the purchase and modification of a new boat.
Newcastle Permanent said that after receiving an unprecedented number of submissions, its Charitable Foundation had awarded $230,000 to six community not-for-profit organisations in the Hunter, Central Coast, New England and Northern Rivers regions.
Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation Chairman Michael Slater said the quality of submissions was outstanding. The Ballina grant was the only one on the Far North Coast.
The Charitable Foundation supports a diverse range of community projects including assisting the disadvantaged, providing support in education, health, culture, the arts, the environment and youth development.
Organisations based in the Hunter, Central Coast, Mid North Coast, New England and Northern Rivers regions are able to apply for funding.
