$400,000 available for community projects in Ballina electorate
Community groups and local governments in the Ballina electorate are invited to apply for assistance for projects under the New South Wales Community Building Partnership program.
The Member for Ballina, Don Page, said the Ballina electorate would receive $400,000 towards the cost of building important community projects.
“This program will also help stimulate the local economy and provide jobs,” Mr Page said.
“I urge all eligible parties to submit applications for funding for projects that will help support local infrastructure and jobs.
“Groups applying for funding need to demonstrate how their project will deliver positive results for the community through job creation, and community, social, recreational or environmental outcomes.
“Local councils will need to make a commitment of matching the funding from the Government.”
Projects must be ready to commence by late 2009 and be completed before the end of December 2010.
Applications for funding under the Community Building Partnership open on the 22 June 2009 and close on the 10 August 2009.
“Forms are available from my office or can be downloaded from www.nsw.gov.au after the 22 June,” Mr Page said.
