Attention budding artists and writers
Ballina Shire Council is calling on the shire’s youngest residents to enter one of the creative activities in the lead-up to Local Government Week to be held from the 3 to 9 August 2009.
There are three categories aimed at specific age groups from pre-schoolers through to Year 12 students.
The competition categories allow the students to creatively respond on their involvement in the local community and environmental projects.
Pre-schoolers to Year 2 students can enter a colouring activity.
Primary aged students can flex their artistic talents by designing a postcard of their favourite place in the local community.
High school students can express themselves by writing a short essay or poem on environmental activities they undertake at a local level to help reduce the impact of climate change.
All entries will be exhibited in the Customer Service Centre and Chambers, with book vouchers awarded in each category during Local Government Week.

Entries close Friday 31 August 2009.
