The Ballina Chamber of Commerce and Industry is one of three finalists in the Department of Industry and Investment Business Enterprise Award through this year’s NSW/ACT Regional Achievement and Community Awards.
The Awards Program is presented by PRIME Television and the Commonwealth Bank and recognises individuals and communities who play a vital role in enhancing the social or economic sustainability in areas, such as, environment and Landcare initiatives, businesses, event and tourism projects, community Leaders and the towns in regional and rural NSW and the ACT.
The Department of Industry and Investment Business Enterprise Award congratulated Ballina Chamber of Commerce for sharing a strong sense of community spirit, and playing a vital role in enhancing the social, economic, commercial and/or environmental prosperity of their region.
“The Ballina Chamber of Commerce and Industry boasts over 200 members and is the peak business body in the Ballina Shire, made up of leaders in the civic community,” awards organisers said.
“The chamber presents a strong voice for business operating for the Ballina Shire to local, State and Federal decision-makers and provides value for members through advocacy, representation, communication, promotion and camaraderie.
“The chamber exists to serve its members and to help promote a positive Ballina through tourism, along with culture for business, enhancement and prosperity.
“The chamber enjoys valuable networking opportunities with its members by meeting monthly for breakfast meetings and after-hours functions.
“Being forward-thinking, the chamber introduced the facilitation of three cluster groups, namely the Home Based Business Network, Ballina Retail Action Group and Made In Ballina. The groups provide a niche for professional development workshops, marketing opportunities and networking events.”
This year’s finalists and winners of the Regional Achievement and Community Awards will be acknowledged, announced and awarded at a special gala awards presentation dinner at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on Saturday 31st October.
The winner of the Department of Industry and Investment Business Enterprise Award will receive Television Airtime Packages on PRIME Television and a hand-crafted glass trophy.
