Ballina Chamber’s award recognition ‘incredibly rewarding’
The Ballina Chamber of Commerce and Industry says it is very proud to be one of three finalists in the Department of Industry and Investment Business Enterprise Award through this year’s NSW/ACT Regional Achievement and Community Awards.
Nadia Eliott-Burgess, the Chambers Executive Officer, said: “It’s incredibly rewarding to be recognised.
“As a not-for-profit organisation we are always limited with the amount of resources available, so we have to be really innovative in bringing our ideas and projects to life.
“We are very happy with the outcomes we have been able to achieve through our projects such as BRAG, an initiative designed to help retailers in the Ballina Town Centre, the Junior Chamber has also been a fantastic success and was the first of its kind to be operated in NSW.
“Our regular events such as the Breakfast before Business and Business after Hours are always so well-supported by our members and it really is the support of our members that drives us to achieve great outcomes and to provide them with every opportunity to facilitate their business growth.”
The Department of Industry and Investment Business Enterprise Award congratulated Ballina Chamber of Commerce for sharing a strong sense of community spirit, and playing a vital role in enhancing the social, economic, commercial and environmental prosperity of their region.
“The chamber presents a strong voice for business operating in the Ballina Shire to local, State and Federal decision-makers and provides real value for members through advocacy, representation, communication, promotion and camaraderie,” the department said.
The Awards Program is presented by PRIME Television and the Commonwealth Bank and recognises individuals and communities who play a vital role in enhancing the social or economic sustainability in areas, such as, environment and Landcare initiatives, businesses, event and tourism projects, community Leaders and the towns in regional and rural NSW and the ACT.
This year’s finalists and winners of the Regional Achievement and Community Awards will be acknowledged, announced and awarded at a special gala awards presentation dinner at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on Saturday 31st October and the winner of the Department of Industry and Investment Business Enterprise Award will receive Television Airtime Packages on PRIME Television and a hand-crafted glass trophy.
