The thing is, it's a road we're talking about, and when driving on a road it's best to keep your eyes on it, or you're an accident waiting to happen. The brochure I saw, told me how the designs will be seen by motorists, as a story that unfolds as you travel around the roundabout. So, as you're watching how "the contours and ripples create the organic order within the elements", you could bump into the car next to you and have more contours and ripples but on the side of your car. If my opinion appears negative and worthless, let's go with option one. It's more simple than option two.
