Get creative at this year’s Rivafest

Free workshops will be on offer at this year’s Ballina Rivafest showcasing leading artists within the Northern Rivers.

The workshops are designed to suit all ages and will run from 9am-7pm on Sunday, November 29.

What’s on offer:

  • Clay Workshop with Penny Evans: Make wonderful creations using clay with one of the area’s leading artists and ceramicists.
  • Spiral Weaving Workshop with Eloise Corlett: Weave placements or your own eco basket using natural or recycled materials.
  • Lino Printing Workshop with Salt Water Women: Witness creative forces at work as you join the lino printing workshop brought to you by the Salt Water Women of the Bunjum Cooperative. Browse the Indigenous art and craft display.
  • Sculptural Mask Making with Donna Albany: Perfect for the festive season, create a sculptural mask using modelling clay.
  • Recycling Remake Nature with Teah Fort: Working with recycled domestic,and industrial products and natural fibres from local plants. This workshop is designed to construct imaginary plants to create a fantastic rare specimens using techniques of looping, twining, knotting and platting. Created pieces will be exhibited as installations and then can be taken home.
  • Free Form Weaving: Gain instruction in free form weaving with natural fibres.
  • Driftwood Loom Jewellery Workshop with Eloise Corlett: Learn how to make jewellery out of beach driftwood and wool. Make necklaces which could be perfect Christmas gifts.
