Ritchies IGA is a real super market
More than $100,000 in donations to the region’s rescue helicopter makes a Ballina supermarket a real, well, ‘super’ market.
Ritchies Supa IGA in Ballina has a charity project called the Community Benefits Scheme. The scheme works by allowing customers to nominate a charity of their choice.
Then, in addition to registered customers being eligible for store discounts, one per cent of everything the customer spends is diverted to their nominated charity.
Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter is one of Ritchies most commonly-nominated charities.
Recently, donations received by the rescue helicopter through the Community Benefits Scheme topped $101,000 – an amazing effort by Ritchies and its customers.
