Ballina Squash Centre to host Emergency Services Charity tournament
Ballina Squash Centre is hosting an emergency services charity squash tournament on Sunday the 14th of March.
Local police, fire, ambulance, SES, Westpac Life Saver Helicopter and Surf Lifesaving organisations are being invited to participate in the event aimed at raising funds for the Sherry children, who tragically lost their parents in a drowning incident at South Ballina.
Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter general manager Kris Beavis said emergency service workers shared a bond because of the common challenges of their work.
“The tragedies that emergency service workers face every day when they go to work creates a bond with others in this field,” Mr Beavis said.
“This charity event is a marvellous opportunity for people to get away from the stresses of work and put a face to the different uniforms they’re in contact with.”
Each team of three will play off for the title of champion emergency service.
“Local businesses are being called upon to provide a sponsorship of $150,” tournament organiser Clinton Anderson said.
“A major sponsor is being sought to provide a sponsorship of $1500 for the event. Spectators and sponsors are encouraged to attend the event. 100% sponsorships and donations will go directly to the nominated charities.”

Are you wanting sponsorship of money only or “in kind” donations that can be raffled? We would be very pleased to offer a 3 day car hire valued at $161.55. Kind Regards, Linda

Hi Linda, that is very generous of you.
I think it might be best to contact the Ballina Squash Centre as they are hosting the event and would be able to put you in touch with the right person to answer your question.
