Don Page endorsed as Nationals candidate for State election
The Ballina Electorate Council has announced the re-endorsement of Don Page as the Nationals candidate to stand at the next State election.
Mr Page has been Member for Ballina since 1988.
“Don Page has been a long-standing local State Member who has a strong record of standing up for the constituents of the Ballina Electorate and the North Coast,” chair of the Ballina Electorate Council, Sue Page, said.
Dr Page said that Mr Page’s experience and strong commitment to his constituents made him an obvious choice as the Nationals candidate for the Ballina Electorate.
The endorsement was a unanimous decision by members from across the electorate.
“Don is a strong, committed and experienced representative for the Ballina Electorate and we are very happy that he will be standing again at the 2011 election,” she said.
“He has a significant record of achievement as our local MP which stems from him being a great local bloke who gets out and about and who understands local issues.
“He understands the need for better infrastructure and services in the face of population growth.
“He knows how important it is for people to have jobs whilst protecting the environmental integrity of this beautiful part of NSW.
“He’s a good local Member and we are confident the Ballina Electorate will again decide that Don Page is the best person to represent them.
“He has certainly done an outstanding job so far.”
