Plant a tree on National Tree Day

Ballina Shire Council is sponsoring this year’s National Tree Day by supplying 1850 endemic plant species and mulch to schools and community groups in Ballina Shire.

National Tree Day is easy to get involved in, and even if you are new to planting trees, there will be help available to show you how.

Volunteers are welcome to help out by planting a tree at one of the three Council sponsored locations on Sunday 1 August 2010.

• Ballina Coastal Reserve at Boulder Beach with Lennox Head Landcare. Entry off The Coast Road access 9.00am – 10:30am.

• Killen Falls Public Reserve at Tintenbar with Emigrant Creek Landcare. Entry at carpark end of Killen Falls Drive 10.00am – 2.00pm.

• Patchs Beach Public Reserve at South Ballina with Patchs Beach Dunecare. Entry from carpark 8.30am-12 noon.

Remember to wear a sunhat, sunscreen, closed shoes and if able, bring gloves, trowel and bucket.
