One Year On – Where were you in the Dust Storms?

The ABC morning radio presenter this morning reminded me that today marks one year exactly since the dust storms that so thoroughly covered the East Coast of Australia.

Although the skies this afternoon are not the clearest, they are not the eerie reddish brown that was all that could be seen last year.

As I mentioned in today’s Ballina Info Newsletter, everyone seems to have a story about the day. I mentioned that I can still find areas of red dust on things in the shed at home, and I remember the fine powder that seemed to take weeks to clean out of all the crevasses of the house.
