Northern Rivers Community Gallery – History and Youth Unite
Wednesday 6 April until Sunday 1 May 2011.
Two new exhibitions-History and youth unite in two exciting exhibitions as part of Heritage Week and Youth Week celebrations.
Experience the diversity of the region’s young artists in the LOUD in the Gallery exhibition.
The exhibition will be launched Friday 8 April (6.00pm – 8.00pm) as part of Youth Week 2011, in celebration of young people and the contribution they make to their local communities.
The exhibition will showcase the talents of young artists from a number of local schools working in the areas of photography, painting, printmaking, installation and ceramics.
LOUD in the Gallery gives young artists a wonderful opportunity to showcase their amazing talents, this being the first exhibition for many of the students. Coinciding with the opening will be a performance by young musicians from the region.
Complementing Loud in the Gallery is Amazing Stories: Hidden Histories of the Ballina Shire, an exhibition celebrating the National Trust’s 31st Heritage Festival. This exhibition is part of a broader programme of events promoted by the NSW National Trust.
Running alongside these two exhibitions will be Showcase in the Café Gallery, an exhibition of works from several Northern Rivers artists across various mediums.
