PROPOSED $20M HARDWARE SUPERSTORE FOR BALLINA
Ballina Shire Council has received a development application for a hardware superstore to be constructed at West Ballina. The proposal has been submitted by Woolworths and a spokesman for the company said that they propose to construct more than 150 hardware superstores over the next few years. If all goes well with the planning procedure construction could commence early in 2012 and open to the public about 12 months later. Jobs created by the construction and staffing of the superstore would be a huge boost for our local community. The name of the new superstores has been suppressed to maintain an element of surprise. The first of the new chain of superstores are set to open in Queensland and Victoria later this year.
