Lennox Head Cultural & Community Centre Ceremonial opening

The Federal Member for Richmond, Justine Elliot, and Ballina Shire Mayor, Cr Phillip Silver, will perform the ceremonial opening of the Lennox Head Cultural and Community Centre on Friday 20 May at 1 pm.

The opening follows the handover of the site to Ballina Shire Council from the building construction company this week.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the opening as they will be able to undertake tours of the building between 1pm and 3pm.

This official opening does not signal the commencement of operations for the centre because the Lennox Head Library will still be in the process of relocating from the existing building and council is still reviewing applications for use of the main hall and meeting rooms located within the centre.

Even though the centre will not be fully operational, the ceremonial opening will provide an opportunity for all interested parties to review the facility from the inside for the first time.

The council says that with a combination of meeting rooms, an activity room, children’s area, the library, a skate park and a main hall that provides a facility for sporting and cultural events, the Lennox Head Cultural and Community Centre will add significantly to the social fabric of Lennox Head for many years to come.

Shame the Lennox Head Community Centre has not even been “officially” opened yet and some twit has already vandalised it buy puching in a wall?
It is amazing that Lennox can finally get a new building for everyone to use & someone as usual has to wreck things!

Shame one of the Yoga classes that was using the old hall can now not afford the $70/hr? fee they are going to be charged, and probably won’t use the new building. Great community spirit hey!

Where are the playgroup kids supposed to go now, there is nowhere big enough for them to play. And no cupboards for any of the sporting roups to put any equiptment! What a great thought-out building, hopeless!
