Hailstorm rips through Ballina
The Hailstorm that ripped through the north coast yesterday afternoon is the talk of Ballina with many stories of storm damage and sights of vegetation shredded after the 20 minute hammering.
The SES answered over 80 calls in Ballina alone and were seen out and about with local councils today as the mop up continues.
Many were caught unaware with cars out in the open when the warm Sunday afternoon turned into a nightmare with strong 80km winds driving hail stones relentlessly for over 20 minutes.
Streets of white are a rare sight in this area so after the initial fright it was a very exciting sight for younger ones to see and touch.
The following images were taken at Skennars Head, Angels Beach Drive, The Coast Road and West Ballina following the storm. If you have an image of the storm that you would like to share please send to admin@ballina.info or add your story to the comments below.
