Charity Duck Race enters its 25th year

The Ballina Rotary Club Charity Duck Race isĀ  on again for the 20th continuous year. It will be held on September 30.

There are two sections, the corporate race featuring ducks sponsored by local business, and the community duck race where 2000 ducks are entered by ticket holders.

This year the races are being held at Fawcett Park near the wharf.

Specially decorated ducks will be on display from 8.30am and the best decorated corporate duck will be selected and announced.

Last year the decorated duck winners winners were Aircompliance Airconditioning with their country and western theme duck, and Richmond River Pharmacy with a hand-painted specimen. Runners-up were McInnes Legal and Ballina Smash Repairs.

Fastest duck was entered by Eggins Prestige Homes and was cleverly modified to the judges’ satisfaction.

Competition is again building with new corporate ducks being carefully prepared.

A display of many of last year’s finalists is on show in the Wigmore Arcade corner shop.

Corporate ducks can be booked online at www.ballinarotary.com
