Morning of the Mo returns to Ballina, Lennox Head
Morning of the Earth transformed the surf movie genre in the late 60s and early 70s into an artistic portrait of counter-culture and alternative lifestyles throughout Australia, Bali and Hawaii.
The Morning of the Mo surf event relives these glory days and in doing so brings the moustache back to the ocean whilst helping to change the face of men’s health.
Morning of the Mo is a grass roots event with all entrants required to sport a Mo, ride a pre-1980s surfboard and rock an outfit relevant to the 70s. Alter egos are encouraged.
All proceeds of the event are donated to Movember and invested in programs focused on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s mental health.
This year Morning of the Mo will be heading back to the Byron-Ballina coast for another weekend of old-school fun and games, a snag in bread and even a wave.
The surf event will take place in the morning, followed by an old school Mo Party at The Lennox Hotel.
