Ballina’s White Ribbon Day Walk 2014

white ribbon dayNext Tuesday, November 25, is White Ribbon Day, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women and the start of 16 Days of Activism to Stop Violence against Women.

For the second year in a row Ballina will be having a White Ribbon Day Walk.

Community members will meet in the park out the front of Ballina RSL at 10am and walk down River St to the Tourist Information Centre where there will be a ceremony and speeches to mark the day.

White Ribbon is the world’s largest male-led movement to end men’s violence against women.

The White Ribbon Campaign is an opportunity for men to speak out for the rights of women to live in safety and free from male violence.
