Calling Expressions of Interest to Host Ballina Skateboarding Event
Ballina Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest from organisations to manage a skateboarding event at Missingham Skate Park in 2017 and 2018.
Council has funds of up to $4000 available per year to support the costs of coordinating these events. This provides an exciting opportunity for event organisers to extend their existing event program or to host a standalone event.
Funding will be available in the new financial year, with the proposed events to be held between 1 July and 31 December 2017 and 2018.
Interested applicants will need to prepare a submission to Council, addressing specific criteria outlined in the Expression of Interest document including:
- Event details – proposed name and anticipated audience numbers
- Event management experience – history of organising similar community events
- Insurance coverage – evidence of public liability insurance coverage specific to the scheduled event
- Event program – draft program of activities
- Cost to participate – indicate whether the event will be free to participate or whether there will be a cost to participate
- Community partnerships – engagement of local organisations in the development of the event program
- Sponsorship – seeking additional sponsorship is a significant factor in determining the final budget and viability of the event.
‘This level of funding reaffirms Council’s support for the development of skateboarding in the Ballina Shire’ said Mayor, David Wright.
A copy of the expression of interest document can be downloaded from Council’s website ballina.nsw.gov.au. All submissions are to be lodged by 4.30pm Wednesday 14 June 2017.
