Ballina to host netball Premier League opening round

Ballina has been chosen to host the opening round of an exciting new netball competition.

The Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League grand final replay between Ballina Seagulls and Mullumbimby Giants turned into a no-contest at Kingsford Smith Park, Ballina, today, with the Giants emphatic 30-0 winners.

Sports coaches, officials get grants

Ballina Electorate sporting coaches and officials have been awarded grants under the 2008 NSW Country Coaches and Officials Travel Scheme, Member for Ballina Don Page announced.

Ballina Seahorses have qualified for Football Far North Coast’s Anzac Cup final with a 3-2 win over neighbouring Lennox Head Sharks.

There’s a nice offshore and the forecast for Saturday is south-west to south-east winds, and a westerly is predicted for Sunday.
