Ritchies IGA and customers support rescue chopper

igaThe Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter has 200,000 reasons to say thank you to Ritchie’s IGA and its customers.

Nearly 10 years ago the Ballina Ritchies Supa IGA store opened and since that time its customers have helped to raise over $200,000 in donation support through the stores Community Benefits program.

Ballina store manager Jamie Kealy visited the rescue helicopters helibase to present a special plaque to mark the significant milestone that had been reached.

“The Ritchies Community Benefit card donates a percentage of money spent by customers to their nominated club, school or charity such as the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter,” Mr Kealy said.

“It is as simple as coming in and doing your shopping and scanning your card to give your support to a local group.”

Fundraising Manager for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter, Zeke Huish, said: “It’s incredible how support such as this can add up over time and help to make such an impact.

“Thank you to everyone who has played a part in helping to make this support possible.”
