Alstonville is a charming hinterland village located on the Alstonville Plateau, approximately 15 minutes west of Ballina. Sitting at around 150 metres above sea level, Alstonville enjoys cooler temperatures than the coast and is surrounded by lush green farmland, macadamia orchards and tropical fruit plantations.
The Alstonville village centre features a lovely main street with heritage buildings, cafes, shops, a supermarket and essential services. The town has a strong community spirit and hosts regular markets at the Alstonville Showground on the second Saturday of each month.
The fertile Alstonville Plateau is famous for its macadamia nuts, avocados, tropical fruits, and coffee. Several local producers offer farm-gate sales, and the Alstonville Markets are a great place to sample the region’s best produce.
Alstonville is approximately 12 km (15 minutes drive) west of Ballina.
The Alstonville Markets are held on the second Saturday of each month at the Alstonville Showground.
