Ballina is a vibrant coastal town located on the far north coast of New South Wales, Australia. The name “Ballina” is believed to derive from an Aboriginal word meaning “place of many oysters.” The town grew rapidly during the timber boom and later became an important centre for sugar cane, fishing and farming.
