Gromfest is an annual youth surfing festival that celebrates the surfing culture and talent of young surfers in the Ballina and Northern Rivers region. The event brings together grommets (young surfers) for a day of competition, coaching, music and beach fun.
The festival is held at Lighthouse Beach or Shaws Bay and features divisions for various age groups. Professional coaches and local surfing champions volunteer their time to mentor the next generation of Northern Rivers surfers.
Gromfest is a wonderful community event that highlights the strong surfing culture of the Ballina region and encourages young people to get involved in ocean sports in a safe, fun environment.
