North Wall Ballina — Fishing, Walking & River Views

North Wall Ballina — The Northern Breakwall

The North Wall is Ballina’s iconic northern breakwall at the mouth of the Richmond River. This impressive rock structure stretches out into the ocean, providing one of the best fishing and walking spots in the region.

The breakwall is popular with fishers targeting a variety of species including tailor, bream, drummer and various reef fish. It also offers spectacular views of the coastline, river mouth and passing marine life during whale watching season.

A walking path along the top of the breakwall makes it accessible for a scenic stroll, with views across to South Ballina Beach on one side and Lighthouse Beach on the other.
